🏞️ Photo Description and Details
The Fiery Furnace is a hiking trail for advanced hikers located in Arches National Park. My husband and I had our two elementary-aged daughters with us, so we used caution. However, we still got lost and had to find our way back out the entrance. If it were just the two of us, we probably would have continued on and figured it out even though it was 103 degrees outside in August.
This hike is challenging because it has a maze-like terrain. There were supposed to be arrows to help you guide your way, but we only saw three arrows. After spending two hours trying to find our way and realized we were going in the completely wrong direction we decided to call it quits since our daughters were started to get too hot out in the heat.
I photographed the photo below at one part of the hike that shows the challenging terrain. We were climbing up and over tons of rocks that looked like this. The hike was very fun, and I think we would have lasted longer had it have not been so hot.

📢 Fiery Furnace Photography Tips
After my experience at the Fiery Furnace hike, some tips I would suggest are:
- Bring lots of water, especially if you are visiting in the summertime. We hiked this trail in 103 weather and definitely needed lots of water.
- Make sure to bring a wide-angle lens.
- Do not bring a tripod.
- Wear good hiking shoes or boots.

I started out using 35mm point and shoot cameras, then upgraded to a 35mm DSL camera when I was in college. Finally, the world of digital DSL cameras was introduced. Gone are the days of having to wait for your film to be developed to see what you captured. From that point on, photography has been so much fun!
As a photographer, I draw inspiration from both the natural world and human experience. I strive to capture moments of raw beauty and to use photos as a testament to the power of storytelling through imagery. I am a firm believer that memories last a lifetime and are more precious than any physical thing you could own. Through my lens, I like to provoke connections between the viewer and any memories my photographs can bring back to life.
